Aransas County Announces Final Wet-Debris Canal Clean-Up- Deadline
Aransas County has recently made several attempts to contact all landowners on the Copano Cove and Copano Ridge canal front areas. For canal debris removal (not dredging), we must have 100% of canal front landowner’s participation in the documentation process. This process includes a “Right of Entry” and “Hold Harmless form” combined into one document which must be signed by each individual canal front landowner(s). This document must then be returned to Aransas County Environmental Health via hand deliver, email, fax, or mail along with a photocopy of the owner(s) driver’s license/state ID. This form is available on the County web site or Long-Term Recovery web site.
Our final deadline to have 100% signed is Monday, September 17, 2018, no later than 4pm Central Standard Time. In the event that we DO NOT have 100% participation, the COUNTY will NOT be allowed to remove the canal debris per federal rules and requirements.
Aransas County Judge, Burt Mills, stated; “This is the last call for response on this clean-up effort. Federal dollars must comply with this process and time is quickly running out. Please reach out to your neighbors and fellow property owners and urge them to follow-up with our staff and complete this needed paperwork. If you do not respond by the deadline, we can no longer pay for the wet debris clean-up.”
