October 3, 2022- COVID-19 UPDATE FOR ARANSAS COUNTY, TEXAS<\/p>\n
Our community risk level is currently MEDIUM.<\/p>\n
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) reporting system as of Friday September 29, 2022, Aransas County has experienced a total of 3973 COVID-19 confirmed cases since the beginning of the recording process, 1244 probable cases and 93 fatalities.<\/p>\n
The Bivalent boosters are becoming available at the pharmacies and at Allegiance EMS on Mondays. DSHS recommends providers begin to offer and administer them as soon as they arrive. The updated bivalent COVID-19 vaccines contain, in equal parts, the original strain of SARS-CoV-2 plus BA.4 and BA.5 lineages of the omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2. The updated Moderna booster is authorized for people 18 years of age and older. The updated Pfizer booster is authorized for use in individuals 12 years of age and older. <\/p>\n
Covid 19 vaccines are available for ages 6 months and up at all pharmacies in Rockport and at Allegiance EMS, 400 Enterprise Blvd #B, Rockport, TX, every Monday from 10am \u2013 2pm. Vaccine booster shots are available for ages 5 and up.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022\tIf you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions. You may choose to wear a mask at any time as an additional precaution to protect yourself and others
