U.S. Air Force Cadets are arriving this weekend from Colorado, not for spring break but to roll up their sleeves and go to work building or repairing homes for Rockport-Fulton area residents.<\/p>\n

It’s part of the Academy’s Alternate Spring Break program. “The cadet-volunteers will team-up with Habitat for Humanity volunteers to work in nine separate locations,” said Maj. Brian Fash, cadet service learning deputy.<\/p>\n

A total of ninety-nine cadets are loading up and leaving Colorado Saturday, March 23, and will provide assistance in the Rockport-Fulton area for about ten days. “So far this academic year the cadets have completed 22,031 hours of community service,” Fash said.<\/p>\n

The Alternate Spring Break Program began at the Academy in 1999. It’s funded by the Center for Character & Leadership Development and Academy donors.<\/p>\n
